Οι δυο πρωταγωνιστές ακολουθούν τον Οδυσσέα στο δρόμο της επιστροφής προς την πατρίδα του, την Ιθάκη.
Ταυτόχρονα έρχονται αντιμέτωποι με διλήμματα όπου ο θεατής επιλέγει την λύση τους.
Abstract
The following paper constitutes the theoretical part of the creation of a 2D animated
interactive (choose-your-own-adventure type) movie, with a duration of 32 minutes
titled “My Odyssey”. The two main characters – father and son – follow Odysseus
and his companions in the adventures, described in Homer’s epic poem, to Aeolus’
and Circe’s islands, to the Laistrygonians, to the encounter with the dead and the
Sirens, on the way to their homeland, Ithaca. At the same time, there are references to
the research on Homeric Geography and potential contemporary location of Homeric
sites, while as a second layer the relationship between the father-researcher and his
son is seen into, in their own parallel “Odyssey”. The project consists of two parts. In
the first part, basic features of animation and interactivity are presented in the same
way they appear in books and cinematographic films. In this project, interactivity lies
in the fact that in every scene the viewer is called, by choosing how the story will
proceed, to choose his own adventure, something that leads to new developments in
the characters’ storyline. In the second part, the production process with the use of
software: Abobe Animate, After Effects, Character Animator and Photoshop is
presented in detail. The presentation is grouped in three stages: pre-production,
production and post-production. The actions that occurred in every stage are described
explicitly and an overall conclusion on the whole project is deduced.
