| dc.description.abstract | Στην αιμοκάθαρση ο καθαρισμός του αίματος γίνεται έξω από το σώμα σε ένα "τεχνητό νεφρό", το μηχάνημα της αιμοκάθαρσης. Το αίμα αντλείται μέσω πλαστικών γραμμών προς τον αιμοσταθμό και πάλι πίσω, μια διαδικασία που παρακολουθείται και ελέγχεται από μηχάνημα αιμοκάθαρσης. Κατά τη διάρκεια της θεραπείας το αίμα ρέει στη μία πλευρά μιας μεμβράνης εντός του μηχανήματος όπου και αναμιγνύεται με ένα υγρό, γνωστό ως υγρό αιμοκάθαρσης, και έπειτα διέρχεται μέσω του μηχανήματος στην άλλη πλευρά της μεμβράνης. Τα απόβλητα και η περίσσεια υγρού περνούν κατά μήκος της μεμβράνης από το αίμα στο υγρό αιμοκάθαρσης. Το καθαρισμένο αίμα επιστρέφεται στο σώμα και τα απόβλητα και το υγρό απομακρύνονται από το σύστημα. | el |

| dc.description.abstracttranslated | In hemodialysis the blood is cleaned outside the body in an "artificial kidney", the dialysis machine. The blood is pumped through plastic lines to the blood center and back again, a process monitored and controlled by a dialysis machine. During treatment blood flows through one side of a membrane into the machine where it mixes with a fluid known as dialysis fluid and then passes through the machine to the other side of the membrane. Waste and excess fluid pass across the membrane from the blood into the dialysis fluid. Purified blood is returned to the body and waste and fluid are removed from the system. | el |
